NOW'S THE TIME TO BUILD THE HEALTH CENTER
Be’chol Lashon has been working hand-in-hand with Rabbi Sizomu, the Abayudaya community, and donors to plan and implement disease prevention measures, including water, sanitation, and mosquito nets to fight malaria. This was the first step in improving healthcare in the Abayudaya community.
We now must build the Shar’ei Refuah Health Center. The health facility will provide much needed health care to the 800 Ugandan Jews. This is a project of Tikun Olam, serving thousands of their Christian and Muslim neighbors and providing security for the Jews of Uganda. Together, we can collectively change the lives of our extended Jewish family halfway around the world.
RABBI GERSHOM SIZOMU RETURNS TO UGANDA
Gershom Sizomu was ordained in May 2008 as the first black sub-Saharan rabbi last, and he has returned to his home in Uganda to resume his leadership of the Abayudaya Jewish community. Plans are underway to fulfill his dream of building a Yeshiva Complex to train rabbis from African countries.Rabbi Sizomu 2008 US Tour
