Health Center
The most vital community need is improved healthcare. Extensive feasibility research by the Instutute for Jewish & Community Research led to the design of the five-year Abayudaya Health & Development Plan, including building a new health center in Mbale. With your helpthe Health Center will provide life-saving medical services including HIV/AIDS prevention education, testing, and counseling. The infant mortality rate in Uganda is high, so the Center will also focus on women's and children's health offering education about the birth and care of infants. to all women in the region. The health center will coordinate the Village Health Workers who travel regularly to all the villages to provide health education including the proper use of the mosquito nets and screens, sanitation, nutrition, vaccinations, HIV/Malaria testing, and pre- and post-partum education.
