Jewish Overnight Camp Scholarships

My name is Michael DeYoung, and I am the new Program Coordinator for Camp Be'chol Lashon. As families begin to think about their summers, I want to make sure you knew about all the scholarship opportunities and deadlines. We strive to provide every child with the opportunity to experience Camp Be'chol Lashon.

If you have any questions regarding scholarships, or camp please feel free to contact me at 415.386.2604 or michael@bechollashon.org. We look forward to seeing you this summer!

Jewish Community Federation of the East Bay

Apply by March 27, 2015

The Jewish Federation and The Jewish Community Foundation of the East Bay provide needs-based financial assistance for Jewish children from the East Bay (Alameda, Contra Costa, Solano and Napa Counties) to attend any Jewish overnight summer camp in the United States or Canada. All overnight camp financial awards are intended to provide "last resort" community resources above and beyond what is contributed by families and individual camps.

PJ Library Goes to Camp

Increasing youth attendance at Jewish camps is a goal of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF). That is why, in partnership with the Foundation for Jewish Camps (FJC), HGF has designed a program to encourage families to send their children to Jewish overnight camp for the first time.

PJ Goes to Camp is a funder of the FJC's One Happy Camper program. PJ Goes to Camp offers incentive grants of up to $1,000 to offset camp tuition for PJ Library participants, siblings, and alumni.

Your Local Synagogue

Many synagogues offer similar scholarship opportunities as do local Jewish Federations. Be in touch with them to find out more information about available programs.

We are happy to help you navigate this process if desired, let us know!

Jewish Family and Children's Services

JFSC supports youth who seek such experiences, as well as families who want their Jewish children to benefit from them. They, and we, know that positive exposure to Jewish values at an early age can lead to a lifelong commitment to our community--an enduring value at JFCS. Contact us to learn more about funds available for summer experiences for Jewish youth: Michelle Lamphere, Financial Aid Center Director for JFCS; 415-449-1226; MichelleL@jfcs.org
